Membership Of The League
- Every university or higher
educational institution which offers studies in Arabic and Islamic sciences, in
addition to institutions concerned with scientific researches in those fields,
shall have the right to obtain a membership in the League.
In order for any institution anticipating obtaining a membership in the League
it is stipulated that an application, in which the institution expresses its
desire to join the membership of the League and binding itself by the statute
and executive regulations of the League and pledges to meet all obligations
laid down in them, be submitted to the General Secretariat of the League,
including paying membership dues.
The League’s General Assembly shall announce the admission of any such university
into the membership of he League upon recommendation of the Executive Council;
and members, instantly thereafter, shall undertake their membership
assignments. And in the event of not paying membership dues, the League’s
General Assembly preserves the right to reconsider any membership.
Member institutions in the League shall enjoy equal rights and duties.
Membership shall be valid unless the institution concerned withdraws from the
League by means of submitting a notification to the League’s General
Secretariat a year earlier, whereupon the General Assembly shall hand down its
decision with regard to ratifying this withdrawal; in that case the institution
shall continue to meet all its commitments to the League until the issuance of
the decision. Furthermore, the member shall be divested of all his rights on
the day of issuing the decision of the General Assembly.
In the event that any member commits any act that could be harmful to the
League, or if this member does not meet the obligations laid down in the
statute and executive regulations of the League, the President of the League
shall give a warning to stop committing those acts and revert to meeting the
required commitments, and in case of not complying, the President shall refer
his case to the Executive Council which has the right to freeze his membership,
and if he still does not meet his commitments, the President shall demand
canceling his membership before the General Assembly on its following session.
The General Assembly may accept, as an observer, universities that fail to
fulfil conditions of membership in the League, or universities that apply for
an observer membership, based on recommendation of the Executive Council.
accepted in that capacity shall meet all membership obligations and respect the
League and its executive regulations, and have the right to the sessions of the
Executive Council and the General Assembly without participating in any voting.
General Assembly may grant such memberships to all confederations and
institutions with suchlike objectives or which contribute, in general, to
promoting cooperation among countries or Islamic institutions.

Any university can be a member in the Islamic Universities league, if it is
recognized by the country in which it is located in and if the curricula in one
of its faculties or institutions include Islamic subjects.

membership of the Islamic universities league : 5000$ (dollars) per a year
transferred to the account of the league no. 20336 – Saudi Egyptian Financing
